Stony Brook Cancer Center thanks Strohm Foundation

The Strohm Foundation evolved from the grass roots organization Three Strohm Sisters Family Foundation that primarily focused on funding breast cancer research at one local institution.

With their continued growth the newly formed Strohm Foundation now funds cancer research, all forms of the disease, at only the finest institutions in the world not only here on Long Island but Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom. The Stony Brook Cancer Center is proud to have the continued support of The Strohm Foundation.

Edward J. Strohm, Executive Director of The Strohm Foundation recently joined us at The Stony Brook Cancer Center to present a donation. “We view Stony Brook as one of the finest institutions on the planet. We are extremely proud of our relationship and we are committed to helping Stony Brook continue to make scientific breakthroughs that benefit all human beings everywhere.  We consider Stony Brook one of the anchors in our network.”

Edward J. Strohm, who was previously VP of The Three Strohm Sisters Foundation has been a valued friend and partner to Stony Brook since 2008. He is currently a member of the Stony Brook Cancer Center Advancement Council and we are thrilled to have his expertise and guidance as we strive to obtain NCI designation for The Stony Brook Cancer Center. His passion for raising funds and awareness for cancer research is an essential part of his life’s work, which will only continue with his newly formed Strohm Foundation.

In conclusion, The Stony Brook Cancer Center is on the cusp of a transformational cancer moment, with advanced technology, a state-of-the-art facility for research and clinical care, and a renewed national focus on the disease and we thank Edward for his commitment to our mission.
